There are many sites that have the tablature for the GK songs. Here's one of them: come.to/gkings I'm beginning guitar too. This past May while in Les Saintes Maries De La Mer for the Fete we learned how to "strum" one of the basic camargue compas the gitans use in their music as taught to us by Rob and Gerard. Haaaa! I use the term "learned" loosely. That compas (the small portion we learned) is about ten levels above my current level of Michael Michael Row Your Boat. ;D If you are going to be in the Camargue area, you may want to see about getting in contact with Mario Agati. He plays with the group Soy (check them out if you haven't yet) and also teaches guitar at the University in Montpellier. I don't know if he gives private lessons but its worth a shot. Check out the website in the Artists section for Soy and there is a contact number. You will have a great time with Gitano Family! Julio, his wife Marjorie and two sons are absolutely fabulous!
